In World First, Twitter Blocks 'Neo-Nazi' Account in Germany

Using its country-specific content-blocking tool for the first time, Twitter has shut down access to a national socialist group’s account in Germany.

"Never want to withhold content; good to have tools to do it narrowly & transparently," Alex Macgillivray, Twitter’s general counsel, tweeted last night. "We announced the ability to withhold content back in Jan. We’re using it now for the first time: a group deemed illegal in Germany." Dirk Hensen, a spokesman for Twitter, told The Associated Press that the account @hannoverticker has been blocked only in Germany, where its content is considered illegal.

South Africa Government: No Guarantee for Safety of White Farmers

Johannesburg - The African National Congress should accept responsibility for farm murders, civil rights group AfriForum said.

"As long as the ANC continues to remain silent when ANC leaders, like Ronald Lamola say that he cannot guarantee the safety of the Van der Merwes and the Van Tonders [Afrikaner surnames]... the ANC can be held responsible for farm murders," AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel said in a statement. In June, Lamola was criticised for his comments relating to land ownership.

Thousands of African and Asian Immigrants Arrested in Greece

The Greek authorities are rounding up thousands of suspected african and asian illegal immigrants in a large-scale deportation drive.

White Activists Arrested for Distributing Leaflets in Northern Ireland

Detectives investigating an allegation that National Front leaflets have been distributed in south Belfast recently arrested two men.

The pair, aged 33 and 49, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, are being held on suspicion of the distribution of written material with intent to incite hatred. The leaflets, which label the white race as "Britain's most endangered species", are alleged to have been distributed in the Tates Avenue area. Zionist Occupied Government of Germany has launched a "war crimes" investigation against an 87-year-old Philadelphia man it accuses of serving as an SS guard in Auschwitz.

The Associated Press has learned, following years of failed U.S. Justice Department efforts to have the man stripped of his American citizenship and deported. The case is being pursued on the same legal theory used to prosecute late Ohio autoworker John Demjanjuk, who died while appealing his conviction in Germany on charges he served as a guard in Sobibor, also in occupied Poland. The conviction was not considered legally binding because Demjanjuk died before his appeals were exhausted.

Greek Racial Nationalists Opens New York Office

The Greek racial nationalist Golden Dawn Party has set up an office in New York City in a bid to bolster its support among expatriate Greek communities, Greek media is reporting.

The patriotic party has been collecting food and medicine at drives in New York for Greeks left destitute by the country’s massive financial crisis and recently distributed the aid in Athens, the Kathimerini daily reported. The website of the Golden Dawn New York branch, which features the party’s symbol across New York skyline, promises the aid will be donated only to Greek people. Similar drives also have been held in Melbourne, Australia and Montreal, Canada, Kathimerini said.

German White Nationalists Wins Case for Free Speech in High Court

The white nationalist National Democratic Party (NPD) had wanted to post newsletters in the former East German state of Saxony, where it has elected members, which Deutsche Post had objected to as "potentially racist".

"Freedom of the press under the constitution requires press publications to be delivered as cheaply as possible," the court said. "This is a victory for free speech," said Holger Apfel, leader of the NPD after the party won the injunction against the postal service in the Federal High Court. The NPD‘s legislators in Saxony wanted to distribute a newsletter entitled Klartext to some 200,000 households in the city of Leipzig.
