Two Out of Five Austrians Think Things Weren't Bad Under Hitler

Three out of five Austrians want a "strong man" to lead the country, according to a new survey.

And two out of five think things were not all bad under Adolf Hitler. Timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary next week of Austria's annexation by Third Reich, the Market Institut poll for newspaper Der Standard found 61 percent of respondents, mostly the elderly, liked the idea of a strong man as leader. That was a higher total than in previous polls. One in 2008 found just one-fifth of Austrians could imagine having "a strong leader who does not have to worry about a parliament or elections."

Greek PM Warns of "Far-right Threat" in Europe

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Saturday said "Europe had to decide between democracy and extreme right populist forces" spearheaded by France's Front National party in dealing with the economic crisis.

A labyrinth of secret underground tunnels believed to have been used by the National Socialists to develop a nuclear bomb has been uncovered.

The facility, which covers an area of up to 75 acres, was discovered near the town of St Georgen an der Gusen, Austria, it has been reported. Excavations began on the site after researchers detected heightened levels of radiation in the area - supporting claims that the National Socialists were developing nuclear weapons.

Xenophobia Rising: Rome Removes Africans from Refugee Centre Besieged by Nationalists

Authorities in Rome have removed the last remaining asylum-seekers from a centre that was repeatedly attacked by angry local residents in incidents that were seen as a benchmark of rising xenophobia.

Around 40 immigrants had remained in the Tor Sapienza residence on the rundown eastern outskirts of Rome until earlier this week. But after garbage containers outside the centre were set on fire, it was decided the occupants should be moved for their own safety. Francesca Danese, the city councillor with responsibility for social policies, acknowledged the move could be seen as giving in to mob rule.

Switzerland’s Supreme Court: Giving a National Socialist Salute is not a Criminal Act

A decision by Switzerland’s supreme court that giving a NS salute may not always be a criminal act is being met with zionist concern inside and outside the country’s borders.

The ruling made public by the Lausanne-based court involved a man who made the gesture at a rally of nationalists in the canton of Uri on August 8th 2010. The court ruled on appeal that making a “Hitler salute” — lifting an arm up into the air at an angle of 45 degrees with a straight hand — is not punishable unless the person involved is proven to be “spreading racist ideology”.

Israeli Tourist Shocked by Souvenirs with National Socialist Symbols Sold in Bulgaria

An Israeli traveling in Bulgaria was "shocked" to find mugs carrying the picture of Adolf Hitler and decorated with swastikas in a souvenir shop in a ski resort.

She later realized the shop was not only one carrying the National Socialist paraphernalia, and found similar trinkets in other shops on the same street. Janna Kushnir, 45, mother of four living in the Azor Regional Council, took her son Rafi, 13, to a Bar Mitzvah trip in Bansko, a tourist hub popular among Israeli tourists, located some 150 km from the capital Sofia.
